North Korea, led by Kim Jong Un's sister Kim Yo Jong, refutes South Korea's claims of firing over 60 artillery rounds near their disputed border. While South Korea alleged the artillery fire, North Korea argues that it detonated explosives simulating gunfire sounds as part of a planned exercise. Kim Yo Jong mocked Seoul, stating that the South Korean forces misjudged the sound of explosives, assumed it was an artillery fire provocation, and fabricated a false narrative. Tensions between the two nations remain high, with residents near the border ordered to evacuate.
